You may have giggled at the genre... but I seriously dare you to listen to this band without turning your bedroom/living room/kitchen/anywhere into a pit just for you and whoever is unfortunate enough to be near you. Some of the lyrics are kinda (really) cheesy but they are from Europe so it's okay (kinda). Like the words or not this bands riffs will have you throwin' down so hard. The music video for Betrayal is sweet too, check that out on youtube

Day Dreamer - Best Wishes

Facebook
Genre: Emo/Punk
Year: 2013

Tracklist:
1. Best Wishes
2. Losing Track
3. Violet
4. Tough Luck

Emo band from Illinois. These dudes play a style very close to Title Fight, but in a way they combine the old sound of Title Fight (More punky sound) with the new sound of TF (emo/shoegaze) which is nice. As well as combining sounds of plenty of newer emo bands like Basement. These guys add their own twist on it as well, kind of a alternative sound to it which is rad, as well as a kind of traditional punk sound. I'm really enjoying this EP! -Jacob Rice

FFO: Title Fight, Basement

Low Places - Black Tape

Bandcamp
Genre: Hardcore/Black Metal/Sludge
Year: 2013

Tracklist:
1. Side A

Last release from this awesome band out of CA. These dudes always have put out a very solid effort on their releases. Spiritual Treatment and their S/T were on replay for me for a very long time. This release is very noisy and gritty. Sad to see these dudes are ending it, but they end it on a killer release. This thing is dark as fuck. I can't really compare it to anything and don't need to. You guys know who these dudes are, get this shit now. This is being release on a very limited amount of tapes soon. -Jacob Rice

1. Fertile Ground
2. Land is Paved

Screamo band from San Diego. These guys play a very raw sounding style of Screamo, like Saetia. Specifically the most raw part of this are the vocals, these vocals are very shrill and screechy like Jerome's Dream. Not many bands do this style, but it adds a lot of emotion to this music. The instrumental work on this thing is very great as well. From the spacey sounding twinkly guitars to the pounding yet fragile drums.
-Jacob Rice

FFO: Jerome's Dream, Saetia

Chelsea Wolfe-Ἀποκάλυψις

Year: 2011
Genre: Doom-Folk/Ambient/?

1. Primal/Carnal
2. Mer
3. Tracks (Tall Bodies)
4. Demons
5. Movie Screen
6. The Wasteland
7. Moses
8. Friedrichshain
9. Pale On Pale
10. To The Forest, Towards The Sea

If you were to label Chelsea Wolfe in a broad sense, you would probably say that she falls under the genre of Folk. However that would not be doing her justice. She derives quite a bit of influences from Black & Doom-Metal and even has a Burzum cover floating around the internet. The instrumentals on Ἀποκάλυψις, as well as Chelsea's voice alternate from being ambient and haunting, to raspy and intense throughout the track-list. The tracks themselves are layered with alternating ambiance, adding an ominous and darkly atmospheric feeling to Chelsea's wailed minor tonalities.

Edward Newgate-Band of the Hawk Demo

Genre: Powerviolence

This band is fairly new to the Kansas City scene and plays stripped-down powerviolence in the veins of Neanderthal or older Sea of Shit. Guitarist True Newman says that the name "Edward Newgate" causes many people to think that the band is some kind of  "indie acoustic artist." However the name is a reference to a character from the Japanese Manga series One Piece
