Meryl Streaker is releasing their 3 songs from their split with Nayru as a lathe through Driftwood Records. These are currently up for pre-order right now and will be limited edition with only as many as are pre-ordered being made. the lathe is an 8" black tinted with silver swirl/marble and will have screenprinted covers on brown cardstock as well as a lyric insert.

Fist Benders release this new album around 2 weeks ago and it is amazing. A vast  over their first improvement over their first release. This album carries a youthful feel with the all the twinkles and sing screaming you could want (thou some more actual screaming would have been nice) with a slight old Modest Mouse influence. Instrumentals are great enthralling, the layered vocals create and interesting effect as well. This is DIY recorded the sound quality isn't the best but it definitly doesn't take anything away from the album in my opinion. Even is if the sound quality isnt the best and some parts are a tad bit sloppy, i feel like this album really captures a youthful feel of twinkly emo that a really enjoy and i strongly recommend this album.

This is a cool split, there isn't much to be said thou. Both bands play a dark brand of emo-violence, Cabin Fire going for more atmesphere and LIABW for a more straight forward approach. There are quite a few tracks on here as well, alot for a split. Anyways you should definitely check this split out.

This is a rad split form two screamo bands, Gauth brings a more melodic sound to the table with strained screams almost reminding me of IWACIYYB. While Bahia brings a more emo-violency sound with instrumentals similiar to Jeromes Dream. Awesome split that i highly recommend.

Meryl Streaker is a 3 piece emoviolence band from San Diego, California. Their first Demo, I've Lived Long Enough, expresses precisely the sentiment that its title suggests. The lo-fi, 4 song barrage of rumbling feedback and piercing squeals clearly maintains an overlying theme of apathy; between the improvised vocals, particularly minimal moments, and "Sorry about that, this, uh, the thing fell off-- at like halfway through the song" that obviously suggests hasty recording. However, Meryl Streaker definitely pulled off the lo-fi. You always wish that the drums were better quality in these things, but their harsh, dense guitar tones/recordings provided a very nice atmosphere, even in the brighter emo parts, surprisingly. The multiple guitar parts layered very nicely and seamlessly, and just turned out awesome granted what they were working with. Despite the hasty feeling the recordings give off, you can certainly tell what parts were written with more care when the drums/guitars/vox align out of the chaos and just jam. Some truly groovy shit you weren't expecting during the clusterfuck just 10 seconds ago. If nothing else, please listen to "The Hardy Boys Kill a Rapist" for the stellarly-written Yamantaka 

Eye-esque vocal wobbles.

Nayru is a screamo band from San Diego... and if you have not heard them you are missing out. Rising from the ashes of their last band Malon, Nayru hits you like a fist of anger and sadness. The screams are shrill and high pitched, the riffs are driving, and the emotion is raw. Recollections starts off right away with "Memories" which comes at you harshly before a nice melodic lull that gives you just enough time to breath before shoving you back in. It continues on switching between some emo-violence-y songs along side some more twinkly ones. One stand out track would be "Ghost Dance" with a haunting riff that slowly unfolds into a explosive climax before returning to that haunting riff you have come to love at that point. Recollections comes to a close with a treat for anyone who has been following the members through their musical history ;) Recollections by Nayru is a amazing album start to finish, So go listen to it.
